Creating Vignettes Decorating for a Fat Chef Kitchen

vignettes-decoratingVignettes decorating is just a fancy way of saying “group a few items together.” It’s a decorating term that we love. Grouping items can make great decorating use of otherwise unused space.

Think of corners especially when you are talking about your kitchen. We don’t want to block out food preparation space and we certainly don’t want to deprive you of the counter tops where you unload your sacks of groceries. This is a kitchen after all, and you need space for food! Instead, we are talking about spaces that you wouldn’t normally use much.

Where Vignettes Decorating Works

Places you don’t normally use are the places where vignettes work to decorate a fat chef kitchen. Think about a corner of your counter top. A fat chef cookie jar takes the center of the vignette with a bright red mug sitting next to him. You could even add a bread basket on the other side. Presto! You have a charming little vignette with your cookie jar available as a functional item, but it still participates in your Fat Chef Kitchen decor.

If you have a side bar type table in your kitchen, that’s another great place for a vignette decorating grouping. Try a fat chef figurine as your focal point. Again add in several smaller items that will complement the look of your figurine.

Creating Wall Vignettes

One of our favorite things to do is to create vignettes on walls. Starting with a Fat Chef Wall Clock as the focal point, add a small shelf underneath and set several small accessory pieces on it. You don’t want to block the functional use of the clock, but you are making use of otherwise blank wall space to bring more decorating to your kitchen.

Vignettes are easy ways to create charming decorating groups. They can be functional, as our examples here, or they can be decorative only. That’s the fun of using a theme like the Fat Chef for you kitchen.

Yup, I love the little fat chef guys! I also love to decorate with little vignettes. On the counter, on the wall, in an unused corner, they can add so much to the design!

I very much enjoy surrounding myself in the kitchen with things I love. It is truly awesome when they can be functional too. Now, later today, I must find a way to fit my functional kitchen vignette into an everyday conversation 🙂

First of all, anything Fat Chef appeals to me at once. But thinking about creating vignettes gave me the idea of doing something similar in other areas of the house too, using other things. Thanks for such an interesting idea!
